Divorce Lawyers New York - Extended Visitation Time

Extended Visitation Time

The party that does not have physical custody of the minor child or children may be able to receive extended visitation time during the summer months and winter holiday months. Such extended visitation may include eight weeks of continuous visitation during the summer months or one to two weeks of extended visitation during the winter holiday months. Extended visitation time is extremely important for the non-custodial parent to have some exclusive bonding time with his or her children. Oftentimes, alternating holidays and alternating weekends is not significant time for the parent and the child to continue their bonding relationship. With extended visitation time, the parties can learn more about each other and learn from each other as they develop throughout their lives.
